Section R313.2 One- And Two-Family Dwellings Automatic Fire Systems. Delete in its entirety and in lieu thereof substitute the following new section R313.2:

Section R401.1 Application. The provisions of this chapter shall control the design and construction of the foundation and foundation spaces for all buildings.

Section R401.2 Requirements. Delete in its entirety and in lieu thereof substitute the following new section R401.2:

Section R401.2 Requirements. The foundation and its structural elements shall be capable of supporting all superimposed live, dead and other loads according to section R301 and all lateral loads in accordance with the provisions of this code. Fills, which support footings and foundations, shall be designed, installed and tested in accordance with accepted engineering practice. Engineering fill shall be compacted to ninety five percent (95%) modified density.

Section R402.1 Wood Foundations. Delete in its entirety.
